Union Township Recreational monthly report to Board of Supervisors
The Union Township Recreation board assembled on July 5, 2005.
The Recreational board assembled to review the previous records and discuss any current issues. At the meeting the following items were discussed:
1) 5 board members in attendance
2) Supervisors in attendance:

4) Funding:

$1,600 CD for
recreational usage.( Fox Children funds)
ii.
$5,000 budgeted Calendar
year 2005 on line item 166 account number 450.000.
c.
Expenditures
i.
$400 for Eagle Scout
landscaping project at Brownsville field paid for out of the CD which is now
$1,600 and according to Linda Levandosky will be put back into another CD until
it is ready for use.
ii.
Request the approval to
purchase a radar gun from Beaver Distributing Company in the amount of $210
(attached). To be used for Community events, fund raisers, & lend to local
athletic associations upon request.
5) General Recreational Policy &
Procedures
a.
Park Rental Rules and
Regulations created by Bob Young Vice Chairman Recreational Board. ( attached
for Supervisors approval)
6) Pleasant View Park
a. Recreational
Board is requesting that the road crew to do the following:
i.
Move the items in the middle picture to behind or off to
the right side of the swing set. Including wood frames and mulch.
b. Would
like to put in a sand volleyball court and horse shoes in the vacant area
c. Request
that gravel be placed in the parking spaces due to deterioration form weather.
Parking would be hazardous for visitors.
d. Would
like sign relocated near RT.88 to promote facility.



7) The Brownsville filed

8) Request Supervisor’s to Address :
1.
Recreational board will
initiate a form to provide the road crew and supervisors on the requests for
work to be done at the Union Township Recreational Facilities. Recreational
board would request that this form be completed and returned to place in our
files.

Request that the
township require new commercial or residential development donate funds towards
recreational proposes for Union Township.
4.
Investigate who
installed and have solicitor send letter requesting that this be fixed. Request
Solicitor obtain information from Walt Lang as noted by Linda Levandosky
5.
How to handle deposit
and payments for facility rental
6.
Eric Ginsburg and the
Recreational board will be organizing a community day at the Brownsville Field
facility to promote Union Township, Associations, and Businesses, Will be free
to enter and walk around. Will be renting space for possible crafters, flee
market, children’s event, band, food and drinks. Projected timing is end of
September early October. Will communicate to community in near future. Spaces
will be 10x10 for $15, 10x15 for $20, and 10x20 for $25.
7.
Recreational Board is
looking to promoting Union Township thru “ Brick by Brick”. This event is to
bring the community together brick by brick. Projected project are as follows:
