Union Highlands, still in the planning stages, is a commercial
development to be located across from Mineral Beach. Michael Joseph
Development Corporation provided Union Township residents with three different
plans during a town meeting on October 14, 2004 at the Finley Middle School.
During the Town Meeting, the Developer addressed:
 | Tax Benefits - with a value of 24 million dollars, the township would
receive approximately $72,000 in real estate taxes and the Ringgold School
District receive $630,000. |
 | Jobs - create approximately 800 jobs. |
 | Construction time - 18 to 24 months |
 | Storm water runoff - a storm water pond is planned for storm water
management. |
 | Traffic - a traffic study was in progress at the time and was using the
design which produce the highest traffic volume. Turning lanes would be added
to Route 88 with widening occurring on the North side of Route 88.
Traffic signals would be added at each of the two entrances on Route 88.

 | Tenants are to be identified late Spring 2005. |
