Union Township is part of the Ringgold School District which also includes children from Carrol Township, New Eagle, Nottingham township, Monogahela, and Donora. Union Township children attend the following Ringgold Schools:

	K-5, Gastonville Elementary School, located at 3685 Finleyville-Elrama Road
	6-8, Finley Middle School, located at 6025 Route 88, Finleyville
	9-12, Ringgold High School, located off Route 136, #1 Ram Drive, Monogahela

Two parks are available for the residents to enjoy: Pleasant Stream Park and Union Township Brownsville Park. Both parks offer playgrounds for the children, but the Brownsville Park has soccer and baseball fields as well.

The community has a Soccer, Softball/Baseball, and Football Associations.

Soccer signups are in January for the Spring season and May for the Fall season. Finleyville Soccer web site

Football signups are held in March.
