The Purpose of this group is to promote and preserve Union Township through community based education and safety programs.  Meetings are held 7:00 p.m. on the first Wednesday of the month at Finley Hall at St. Francis of Assisi.  Each month has various topics and Guest Speakers.  Click here to view past monthly topics.

State Representative David Levdansky has obtained and delivered a state grant to help this group become an official nonprofit organization and fund a project.  The project is to purchase 100 First Alert motion sensors that will be distributed free of charge to senior citizens and low-income township residents.

Our very own, Trooper Brian Burden, presented "Lady Beware" - a Personal Safety discussion. Lady Beware was a informative general discussion on how to protect yourself and how to survive - robbery and home invasion.

Dr. Victor Yu held an interesting discussion on the Bird Flu.  Victor L Yu, MD, is a Professor of Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh and Chief of the Infectious Disease section at the VA Medical Center, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Oct 6 Bob Laux, a College Professor from the Duquesne University Pharmacy School, spoke about the importance of vitamins, minerals, and supplements in diets. Professor Laux is also affiliated with the Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
Sept 6 Carla Dunlap-Spinks from the  Neighborhood Drug Awareness Corps presented a shocking display of the affects of methamphetamines.
